Lily Brewer has been named the Academy Sports SSG Sox Softball Player of the Week for her performance last weekend.
Lily plays for Coach Plaisance in the 12U Auburn Division, putting on a clinic last weekend with 8.0 innings pitched, a 0.00 ERA and an amazing 18 Strikeouts!
Brewer is a 6th grader at JF Drake Middle School in Auburn, Alabama. Her primary position is pitcher, and her favorite college softball team is the UCLA Bruins. Lily is very comfortable on the mound and credits her pitching coach with helping her to stay focused throughout a game.
Each week during the Spring and Summer seasons Academy Sports + Outdoors presents the Spotlight Player for both baseball and softball, as voted by SBG and SSG Sox coaches and administrators. The nominations are from all age teams in all youth age groups playing that weekend, and are based on the performance of that tournament. Each weekly selection will receive a $20 Gift Card from Academy Sports, good at any location.
At the conclusion of each month, a Spotlight Player of the Month will be selected and recognized for their overall performance for the month. The monthly selection will receive a $50 Gift Card from Academy Sports, good at any location.
